Last Sunday Greenwell Point played host to about 70 speed boats and kayaks in the Squidgie Southern Bream Series.  With 70+ teams in the SSBS, the beach opposite Angler’s Rest was abuzz with shiny speed boats, kayaks & eager fishermen.  With speeds of 100+kph I was caught thinking how much fun speedy fishing (or not fishing) could be, but not for long – 50 or so marine rescue personnel were waiting for their coffee…

Angler’s Rest Boat Hire on the South Coast has 6 hire boats with 5hp motors along with 4 kayaks for hire.  Bait & tackle is available if fishing for a yummy fish dinner is your passion, or just relax in your hire boat and soak up the South Coast’s natural environment.  Remember, no fishing or boating experience is necessary when you hire our boats. We’ll put the boat in the water and tell you where the fish have been biting along with the regular south coast fishing hotspots.

Last Easter school holidays Angler’s Rest hosted Koori Communications Catch N Cook “how to fish” program.  School children were gathered from around the Shoalhaven to participate in the multi award winning “how to fish” school holiday program.  The week long holiday program hired most of our boats every day and ensured everyone had fun meeting new friends and mentors while catching some fish for dinner.  Well done to Peter and Sarah for running such a terrific school holiday fishing program.
